June 22, 2006

I was out yesterday with the Italians, they had an explosive sniffing dog so we discovered some bomb making material, and climbed up a mountain to search a cave for weapons. Today I got to shoot some machine guns and a grenade launcher so it was a great day. They are pairing me up with a new company of Afghans, and a young American for a new weapons company so I am looking forward to. It's actually kind of like a Safari for a year....lol. I get to come home in October for 2 weeks so that is a good thing. Talk to you later.

Hello, here's some pictures. One is a rocket we recovered, one is bomb making material we found, one is a mud village, and the others are me shooting. The Web Blog moved my address so for those of you who don't have it. (Karen)

I have been busy patrolling with the Italian Army and the Afghans. We have gone through some pretty desolate places. I put in a few pictures of some of the kids I gave some water to today, and some British soldiers who tagged along and went with ith us as well. I got a package and some letters today. That was great. Mail is always a plus. I had some lasagna made by Italians at their mess hall and must confess it was the best I have ever had, I returned the favor by giving them some MRE's. ha ha ha My section nabbed 2 suspected Taliban supporters and we turned them over to the Afgan Police. Well, I have to go. I'll write more later.

It has been yet another very busy day with the ISAF forces. I took my ANA on joint combat patrols with the Italian Army. Turned into a very interesting evening to say the least, and I am sure it will lead to many more patrols soon. I have enclosed a few more pictures as usual. Talk to everyone later.
